Dr. Nickolas Kingsley to Host Workshop at 2013 Military Radar Summit in Washington, DC
(Originally announced February 11, 2013)
Dr. Nick Kingsley will host the “Gallium Nitride: Ready for Radar Primetime” workshop at the 6th annual Military Radar Summit. The workshop, to be held on Monday, February 25, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC is part of the 3-day summit event that gathers academics and government and industry executives to discuss the latest military radar developments.
“The introduction of Gallium Nitride (GaN) to the microwave community provided a paradigm shift for the way we design front-ends. With more than an order of magnitude higher power capability than any other solid-state material, inherent robustness, and natural wideband performance, GaN is quickly transforming from an emerging technology to the military standard,” said Dr. Nick Kingsley, Director of Engineering for Auriga Microwave. Kingsley continued, “My talk will cover a broad range of topics, including benefits, trade-offs, design techniques, product examples, and future prospects.”
"We’re thrilled to have Dr. Kingsley share his knowledge on this exciting technology,” said Dr. Joseph Guerci, Chairman of the Military Radar Summit. “I am personally involved in a number of advanced new radar development projects and all of them are looking to GaN to meet very demanding requirements in power, efficiency, bandwidth and linearity.”
The 6th Annual Military Radar Summit is a forum on the challenges, requirements and potential solutions for the development and deployment of radar systems. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to interact and network with a close-knit community of military, government, academic, and private sector leaders. Visit the Summit site here.
