Auriga Microwave Receives Another Phase I SBIR Award

LOWELL, Massachusetts, July 27, 2010

Auriga Microwave announced today that it has received the contract for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) award N093-221: Highly Efficient Transmitter for High Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) Waveforms.

Under a contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Auriga will design a compact, highly efficient transmitter for complex waveforms and other waveforms with a high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) targeted for Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS)

"We are extremely excited about this award as it will allow us to utilize our envelope-tracking techniques for maximizing power amplifier efficiencies," said Yusuke Tajima, PhD, Auriga's Chief Technology Officer. Auriga has several projects under development that benefit from envelope-tracking.

"As envelope-tracking is a strategic technology for Auriga, we are confident it will help us with this JTRS program," said Bruce Cohen, Auriga's president and CEO. "Our team is looking forward to participating in this, our second SPAWAR program, and eighth SBIR Phase I contract in the last three years."

The Company is currently under contract for two Phase I and five Phase II SBIRs
Other current SBIR projects include:

  •     NAVSEA-NRL: High-efficiency Solid-state Radar Power Amplifier (S-band)
  •     SPAWAR: Shipboard Low Noise Amplifier Assembly (UHF, L, & S-band)
  •     Army CERDEC: High-Power Integrated RF Switches for JTRS (UHF, L, & S-band)
  •     NAVAIR: Solid-State High-Efficiency Radar Transmit Module (UHF-band)
  •     NAVAIR: Wide Bandgap Amplifier Linearization (L & S-band)
  •     Army CERDEC: Linearity Improvement of MMIC Power Amplifiers at Reduced Output Power Back-off (Ka-band)
