Auriga Microwave Receives Seventh Phase I SBIR Award

LOWELL, Massachusetts, June 28, 2010

Auriga Microwave announced today it received its seventh Phase I Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) award.

Under a contract from the Army’s Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Auriga will develop a power amplifier for tactical mobile SATCOM systems. The program, called “Linearity Improvement of MMIC Power Amplifiers at Reduced Output Power Backoff” is a six-month award.

“This Army project will allow us to enhance our envelope-tracking techniques,” said Bruce Cohen, Auriga’s CEO and president. Cohen continued, “I believe, as we continue to move to higher frequencies and get involved with more communication projects, our envelope-tracking capability will help set Auriga apart.”

This is Auriga’s seventh Phase I SBIR award since 2007. The Company has also been awarded five, two-year, follow-on Phase II Awards.
Other current SBIR projects include:

  •     NAVSEA-NRL: High-efficiency Solid-state Radar Power Amplifier (S-band)
  •     SPAWAR: Shipboard Low Noise Amplifier Assembly (UHF, L, & S-band)
  •     Army CERDEC: High-Power Integrated RF Switches for JTRS (UHF, L, & S-band)
  •     NAVAIR: Solid-State High-Efficiency Radar Transmit Module (UHF-band)
  •     NAVAIR: Wide Bandgap Amplifier Linearization (L & S-band)
